Contractor Terms

Independent contractor status

  • You provide services to clients as an independent contractor, not as an employee, agent or partner of BeHired or of any client.
  • Nothing on this platform creates an employment relationship. You are not entitled to wages, benefits, holiday pay or any employment protections from BeHired or clients.

Your hours, methods and tools

  • You set your own working hours, choose your own methods and tools, and decide how to perform the work, subject to the deliverables and deadlines agreed in each job.
  • BeHired does not supervise, direct or control your work. Clients may define the result they need and review deliverables, but not manage how you work day to day.

Taxes and compliance

  • You are responsible for your own taxes, social contributions, insurance, licences and compliance with the laws of your country.
  • You confirm you are legally allowed to perform the services you offer and to enter contracts with clients.

Payment through escrow

  • Clients fund escrow when a job is awarded. Funds are released to you when the client approves the work, when a milestone is approved, or automatically after 7 days in review with no change request.
  • BeHired deducts a platform fee of 20% from each payment. Payouts are made to your connected payout account once payment processing is enabled.
  • Hourly work is paid for approved hours at the agreed rate, up to the weekly cap stated on the job.

Confidentiality

  • Client materials are confidential. You may use them only to complete the job and must never republish, resell or share them, as set out in the mutual NDA you accept during onboarding.

Disputes

  • Either side may raise a dispute on an active job. BeHired will review the job, messages and deliverables and decide how escrowed funds are settled. Our decision on escrow is final, without affecting any legal rights you may have.

Conduct and termination

  • You must not misrepresent your skills, submit AI-generated work as your own where a job requires human work, or take payments off-platform for jobs found on BeHired.
  • We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms. You may stop using the platform at any time; active jobs must be completed or cancelled first.
